A dedicated endodontic specialist, Dr. Craig Saltzman has been providing outstanding endodontic care to central Massachusets area patients since July of 1999 at Western Mass Endodontics. Originally from New York, Dr. Saltzman grew up in the Catskills and now resides in Longmeadow, MA with his wife, Janine, and their two children, Julia and Samantha. When not at the practice, Dr. Saltzman enjoys the great outdoors including his favorite activities, snow skiing and golf.
After earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University in 1997, Dr. Saltzman obtained postgraduate training to further his knowledge in the endodontic specialty. Dr. Saltzman received his certificate in endodontics and his Masters in Oral Science from the University of Buffalo in 1999. To further his knowledge in the profession and to remain on the forefront of his specialty, Dr. Saltzman attends continuing education courses on an annual basis.
The combination of Dr. Saltzman’s experience, education, and continued training allow him the confidence and qualification to perform a vast number of endodontic treatments and procedures with precision. Among his greatest specialties is the performance of surgical and nonsurgical root canal therapy. Dr. Saltzman is additionally skilled in endodontic retreatment, as well as diagnosing and establishing a treatment plan to address the underlying cause of oral pain.

Since June of 2004, Dr. Eric Shapiro, an endodontic specialist and member of Western Mass Endodontics’ skilled dental team, has been providing unparalleled endodontic care to greater central MA area. Dr. Shapiro actively pursues advancements in his field and is committed to contributing to the Western Mass Endodontics mission of remaining a premier, state-of-the-art endodontics facility. In his time away from the practice, Dr. Shapiro enjoys physical activity and the great outdoors.
After obtaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of New York at Buffalo, Dr. Shapiro enrolled in the U.S. Navy where he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry while serving his country. Dr. Shapiro went on to earn his certificate in endodontics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2004. Continuing education courses permit Dr. Shapiro the ability to remain current in the evolving world of endodontics.
Because of his focus on the advancement of the industry and his dedication to providing comprehensive, quality endodontic care to his patients, Dr. Shapiro is skilled in providing a variety of surgical and nonsurgical procedures and treatments to patients of Western Mass Endodontics. Among his specialties, Dr. Shapiro is exceptionally skilled at endodontic retreatment, a meticulous procedure which addresses dental pain caused by the infection of a tooth that has been treated before, unsuccessfully.

A skilled endodontic specialist, Dr. Randolph Scott has been providing exceptional care at Western Mass Endodontics in central Massachusetts since July 2009. Originally from Columbia, SC, Dr. Scott now calls Northampton, MA his home. When not practicing or teaching, Dr. Scott writes and publishes articles on endodontic medicine through NASA’s Space Medicine Life Sciences program at Morehouse School of Medicine, and enjoys traveling and table tennis.
Dr. Scott earned his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA in 2002 before obtaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN in May of 2007. Dr. Scott went on to complete his postdoctoral training in endodontics at Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA where he now serves as a clinical instructor. Committed to remaining on the forefront of modern endodontics, Dr. Scott takes several continuing education courses each year.
The combination of Dr. Scott’s dedication, experience, and education qualify him to confidently provide a great number of advanced endodontic procedures and services with optimal results. Dr. Scott specializes in the treatment of dental pain resulting from traumatic injuries, severe decay, or cracked teeth. By using state-of-the-art technology to identify and diagnose a dental condition, Dr. Scott is able to address the source of the pain and establish a plan to provide relief.

Dr. Gregory Odierna joined our team of endodontic specialists at Western Mass Endodontics in August of 2000, and has been providing high-quality endodontic care to central Massachusetts patients since. As a member of the facility’s skilled team of dental professionals, Dr. Odierna provides consistent, compassionate care and exudes the kindness and friendly nature that helps our practice to remain a superior endodontic facility.
After graduating with honors from Harvard School of Dental Medicine with his Doctor of Dental Medicine, Dr. Odierna enrolled in the University of California at Los Angeles for his post-graduate training in endodontics, completing the course in 2000. Dr. Odierna is committed to remaining current with evolving endodontic techniques and advancements by enhancing his skills and knowledge with continuing education courses annually.
As an endodontic specialist, Dr. Odierna is skilled to perform a variety of highly sophisticated dental procedures that help to address issues of dental pain, dental trauma, and salvaging teeth that might otherwise need to be removed. Dr. Odierna is especially skilled in the performance of endodontic surgery. This technique is commonly used to directly relieve dental pain caused by damage or decay to a tooth or a nerve necessitating a surgical treatment.

Dr. James McIntosh is an endodontist who began his journey to dentistry in 2007 at California State University of Northridge, where he studied biology. From there, he moved on to the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, where he graduated with a doctor of dental surgery degree in 2017. Further, in 2020 he earned his master of science in dentistry.
